Easter – a Celebration of HOPE!

Volunteers for Ragan's HOPE - Easter Basket Work DayEaster is upon us, and it is a time of rediscovering our HOPE in a Savior who was able to conquer death, and bring salvation to us all. HOPE. What an amazing word. As human beings, we are wired to HOPE – to hope for better days, for new beginnings, for healing, and for miracles. But also as human beings, that hope can be tested. Daily, at Ragan’s HOPE, we experience first-hand what it’s like to bring hope to those who feel hopeless. There is no way to guarantee any outcome, but to know that someone is there walking with you through the pain of uncertainties – it can make all the difference in the world!

When a family has a child who is experiencing medical issues or complications, the world around them comes to a halt. Every parent, no matter who they are or what they do, experiences a heartache that you can’t imagine unless you’ve been there. Every ounce of energy is spent on the care and welfare of that child. It is during times like these that families might miss celebrations and holidays that so many of us can take for granted – like Easter.

These times are also hard for healthy siblings who are on the sidelines watching a brother or sister struggle with their health. They experience their own heartache as they watch their parents do their best to care for everyone. At Ragan’s HOPE, we don’t just offer support to the child experiencing medial issues – we offer support to the whole family! And we are able to do that because of people like you who financially and prayerfully support this ministry.

Thanks to the volunteers of Ragan’s HOPE, there are many families who will be able to celebrate and provide Easter goodies to their children without having to worry about leaving the hospital, making lists, and wondering if they’ve covered all the bases for each sibling. Volunteers prepared 150 beautiful Easter baskets with items that were donated to Ragan’s HOPE. 60 of the baskets were taken to Our Children’s HOUSE – Baylor, and the rest were distributed to families currently being supported by Ragan’s HOPE.

Have you ever experienced what it’s like to bring HOPE to someone’s heart? You can. We would love to tell you more about Ragan’s HOPE and the opportunities available to serve. If time is an issue, financial contributions are critical as we continue to support those in need.

Happy Easter! May yours be full of HOPE!
